Check-in agent: Well, may I see your passport, please?

Passenger: Yes, you can see it in the passport.
Check-in agent: Is anybody traveling with you?
Passenger: No, I’m traveling on my own.
Check-in agent: How many bags are you checking?
Passenger: Only one suitcase. I will take this carry-on bag with me.
Check-in agent: Can you place your suitcase up here on the carousel?
Passenger: Of course!
Check-in agent: Perfect! You don’t have excess luggage. Your luggage will
go directly to your fnal destination. You don’t need to
pick it up in your layover.
Passenger: OK.
Check-in agent: Would you prefer a window seat or an aisle seat?
Passenger: An aisle seat, please.
Check-in agent: There are no aisle seats remaining. Is a window seat okay
with you or would you prefer a middle seat?
Passenger: Can I have a seat closest to the emergency exit?
Check-in agent: I’m sorry, but all the seats next to the emergency exits
have been taken.
Passenger: OK. Then, a window seat is fne.
Check-in agent: I can offer you one in the middle of the cabin or one in
the rear of the plane. Which one do you prefer?
Passenger: I guess the one in the rear will be more comfortable
and quiet.

Please proceed to gate 9 at 9:40 p.m.
Passenger: Excuse me, which gate must I go to?
Check-in agent: Gate 9.
